Unix timestamp 0

Discord counts seconds since 1 January 1970 (UTC). If a code shows a year like 58,000, the number is in milliseconds — divide by 1000.

Why timestamps beat plain text

Right for everyone

One code renders in each reader's timezone. No more "wait, which timezone?" threads under your announcement.

No bot needed

Timestamps are built into Discord. No invites, no permissions, no setup — paste the code and it works.

Countdowns included

The R flag counts down live ("in 34 minutes") and flips to "34 minutes ago" after. Perfect for events and deadlines.

Frequently asked questions

What are Discord timestamps and how do they work?

Discord timestamps are codes like <t:1784541600:F> that display a date and time in each reader's own timezone. Discord renders the code from the Unix timestamp inside it, so one pasted message is correct for everyone, everywhere.

How do I create a Discord timestamp code?

Pick a date and time in the generator above, copy any of the 7 format codes, and paste it into a Discord message. No bots, no permissions, no setup.

Which format should I use?

Use F for full event announcements, R for countdowns and deadlines, t for short times and D for dates. The format guide shows all seven with examples.

Why does my timestamp show the wrong time?

Almost always the number is in milliseconds instead of seconds, or the device clock is wrong. Divide by 1000, check the clock, and re-paste. The timezone guide covers every common breakage.

Do timestamps work on mobile?

Yes — desktop, iOS and Android all render timestamps, each in the device timezone.

Is this free?

Yes. The generator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, stored or tracked by us.
