How to Use Discord Timestamps (Desktop & Mobile)
Discord timestamps turn one pasted code into the right local time for every reader. Here is the whole workflow: pick, copy, paste.
1. Pick the moment
Enter the event date and time in the generator using your own timezone — the tool converts it to a Unix timestamp (seconds since 1 January 1970 UTC) automatically.
2. Copy the code
Every code follows the same shape:
<t:TIMESTAMP:FLAG> — for example <t:1784541600:F>.
The middle number is the Unix timestamp; the letter picks the display format. F suits announcements, R counts down.
3. Paste in Discord
Paste the code into any channel, DM or thread and send. Discord renders it instantly — desktop, iOS and Android each show their own local time. No bots, no permissions, no setup.
Desktop vs mobile: any difference?
None that matters. Both render all 7 formats. On mobile, long-press the message to copy the raw code; on desktop, hover to see the full date behind a relative timestamp.
Common first-try mistakes
- Year 58,000 or similar: the number is in milliseconds — divide by 1000.
- Raw
<t:…>text visible: a space or line break slipped inside the brackets — re-copy the exact snippet. - Off by an hour: the sender picked the time in the wrong timezone, or a device clock is wrong.
