Discord Countdown Without a Bot

The R flag is a live countdown: it ticks from "in 3 days" down to "in 34 minutes", then flips to "34 minutes ago". No bot to invite, nothing to host.

Make one in 30 seconds

  1. Pick the event moment in the generator.
  2. Copy the Relative (R) row.
  3. Paste it in your announcement channel.

Pair it with the full date for clarity: Launch day is <t:1784541600:F> (<t:1784541600:R>) renders as "Launch day is Monday, July 20, 2026 11:00 AM (in 3 days)".

When a bot still wins

R timestamps update only when the message re-renders (opening the channel, hovering). For second-by-second ticking or auto-pinning results, a dedicated countdown bot is better. For the other 95% of announcements — raids, launches, deadlines, giveaways — the R flag is faster and free.
